Rant: Life is going to get more boring, soon
Thursday, February 07, 2013
I think I mentioned this before, but I don't really have a lot of geeky friends. In fact, the people whom I know that could understand what I do can be counted with a single hand, and I'm not even that close with them.
At the end of this month, my school will end, but I'm only graduating a little while later. What this means is that I probably wouldn't have anyone to rant to anymore for the geeky things that I do. (because let's face it, engineers have a better chance of exposure to the things I do)
The main point isn't about showing off.
It's about what's interesting. Whenever I find or do something interesting, I hope that someone else would too. It's just like that, for what ever weird or queer reasons you can think of. It's a little bit like painting, if you managed to paint something awesome, you would probably want someone to appreciate, or in a way, approve your efforts.
This may be an over generalization, but I pretty much see life in two options.
Interesting, or non-interesting.
For example, money isn't interesting. Which is why I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about it. But the notion of money is interesting. We somehow gave a worthless piece of paper universal value throughout an entire planet, that is interesting.
Computers are interesting, we make wonderful movies, music and games using only 1s and 0s.
Something far off that is interesting to me; deep sea creatures. The incredible amount of unknown species hidden kilometers under the oceans, that gigantic unexplored territory even though man has ruled the land for thousands of years.
There are a lot of things that interests me, and a lot that don't. The point is that computers are easily accessible and far more realistic than any other crazy endeavours. Well, it's not like anyone would understand anyway.
Seems like I'm going back to the days of meaningless self-gratifications.
